Ni No Kuni: A fantastic RPG experience

Ni No Kuni. Not an easy name to remember. But once you play the game, it is a name you will likely never forget. Stunning anime-like graphics really help to bring the characters to life. Ni No Kuni has a familiar catching system that is semi-reminiscent of a classic RPG fan favorite, Pokemon. The monster catching is where the similarities cease, because Ni No Kuni is a classic in its own right. RPG fans will forever be thankful for the in depth battle system, memorable storyline, and loveable characters and familiars. Ni No Kuni is a must play for any RPG lover.

Ni No Kuni is a great game for a child's first RPG experience, but also has a storyline capable of captivating adults. Overall, it is one of the best RPG's that I have had the pleasure of playing, and I look forward to playing more RPG's that are similar to Ni No Kuni. Have you played any good games lately? Let me know what you think about Ni No Kuni, and any other games you think we should all be playing. Feel free to leave a comment with your suggestions.

Darth Visto

Travis Newville wearing a Darth Vader mask

They call me Darth Visto, so I'm runnin' with the Sith flow.
Blowin' on the indo, throwing Jedi out my window like that punk Mace Windu.
They say killin' Jedi is a sin fool, but I don't give a shit dude.
I took a dookie on your wookiee, now you and Lukey smell like shit fool.
The Sith are on another level, 'cause the force is purely mental.
The Jedi type so sentimental, and the Sith just use the fundamentals.
You better duck motherfucker, here come my elementals.
The Sith mind has got you rattled, as you lose another battle.
You thought Boba died, but new life has got you addled.
Now, Han Solo gotta die because the rivalry is static.
Boba's right back at it, and he's brutally attackin'.
And Luke still smells like poop, 'cause the Jedi dude can't hack it.
So, sit your Jedi ass down before my stormtroopers attack it.

The American Pitbull Terrier

Breed specific legislation is taking the United States by storm. Many cities across the country are now starting to ban large breeds of dogs. No breed, however, is banned from more cities nationwide than the American Pitbull Terrier. Breeds of any animal should not be discriminated against. Breed specific legislation will only damage the future of all large dog breeds, but it could also lead to certain breeds becoming extinct. The American Pitbull Terrier is illegal in over 600 cities nationwide, and the most sickening part of it all is that most are proud of it. Pit bulls are not born mean dogs. Irresponsible owners, such as dog fighters, have preyed on pit bulls making them the object of hatred and fear.

The American Pitbull Terrier is a majestic dog. They were first known simply as bulldogs. Then in 1897, they were renamed the American Pitbull Terrier when the United Kennel Club was formed. The truth is that the American Pitbull Terrier is a great family dog. They love children, and love to please their family. It is important that people begin to see the American Pitbull Terrier for what is is; an affectionate, fun-loving, and loyal family companion.

Dogs cannot help what breed they get born into. Just like people cannot choose what race they are. Holding a breed to the responsibility of the actions of their owners is not going to solve anything. These breeds did not do anything wrong. The people that failed them did. This country has come a long way towards stopping discrimination, and banning individual breeds of dogs is a step in the wrong direction. Dogs are not bad animals, and what breed they are does not determine how bad a dog is. Its owner does. I would really hate to see an entire group of dogs be banned, because nobody opened their eyes to the real problem. Irresponsible dog owners should be the ones being held accountable for their own actions. The breed of the dog has nothing to do with the problem. People need to help to situation, and not by turning the other cheek on it. Even if you are not a pit bull owner, please, show some empathy for a struggling breed.

Emily's Fight

A jiu jitsu program geared toward young children to combat bullying
Emily learning jiu-jitsu from 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu  purple belt, Brett Sbardella

Emily is a 6 year old girl, who suffers from Tourette's syndrome, and has repeatedly had to deal with bullies at her kindergarten. Emily's fight began one day a few weeks ago, when she came home upset that she was getting pushed down by three boys that were bigger than her. I gave Emily a big hug, and told her that she needs to tell the adult in charge next time they do this. The very next day my daughter, Emily, came home crying again. She said the same three boys kept pushing her down, and would not let her back up. She told the adults in charge this time, and they got sent to the wall. However, the boys were not done. The next day the three boys continued pushing Emily down, and ruined the new outfit that I bought her for school. Emily came home crying yet again, and this was the fourth consecutive day that she had come home in tears. She told me that these three boys push her down every day, call her stupid, and keep pushing her back down when she tries to get back up. Emily's school, Breckenridge Elementary, preceded to explain to me that this is normal behavior. Then they told me that three boys ganging up on my daughter, and pushing her down is not bullying at all. This is a direct contradiction to the school's bullying policy, which clearly defines pushing and shoving as bullying.

I have always had a lot of friends in the local MMA scene, and have always heard about Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ for short) being the perfect defense for a smaller person to combat bullying. When I heard that the school was unwilling to help my daughter combat bullying, I did the only thing a parent in my situation should do. I contacted the most respected BJJ instructor in my area, and asked him to help Emily. Brett Sbardella, of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, took Emily's situation more seriously then anyone at her school ever did. He worked with Emily, and the other kids, on what to do when someone bigger than her pushes her down. Now, every Sunday, Emily is learning the tools she needs to protect herself from bullying, and she's never had more fun in the process. Brett Sbardella offers his program for children at the Clare Family Fitness center in Clare, MI.

Emily is also learning respect, self-confidence, and teamwork from the BJJ class she is taking. She is learning that she needs to do everything she can to avoid an altercation, but when it happens she will be able to intelligently defend herself. Slowly, but surely, Emily is starting to fight back against bullying. And it is all possible thanks to Brett Sbardella, and his children's self defense program at Clare Family Fitness.
