The Weight of the World

Two beautiful young girls feeding ducks.

The world is changing. It is not quite what it used to be.
For my grandchildren I am concerned, and for their ancestors I weep.
The pollution is reaped from the seed that we sow.
Sulfur rain ignites death by glucose.
Typhoons, hurricanes, and even volcanoes will be more deadly than ever.
Yet we do nothing about it, and we all know we'd better.
The death created by humans is as plain as the day.
But the Earth still cries out in vain with its pain.
How many creatures that lived once no longer remain?
By the Earth's greatest creation destruction will unfold.
Humans wreak havoc and bring death wherever we go.
Nobody owns the lawn that they mow. We lease from ancestors, and leave it for them broke.
The Human race is the Earth's greatest joke.

The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life burns bright in sight
To fight the blight; Big Brother's insecure rite
To right the wrong our forefathers have done
The Tree of Life grows toward the sun
But our brothers and sisters dig deeper and run
Toward our death we droids aid in the gloom
Stop the pain of our Mother Earth soon
Before we assure our descendant's doom
The Earth is not ours to do as we please
The human race is a deadly disease
The Tree of Life can save the human's souls
From the destruction of life that drilling foretold
